Both parents were what they call “gentlemen” cat burglars when not "earning" it at card tables. And it was at the card table where they both met their deaths. Her father gained entry into a very private room. The last hand played that night resulted in jubilation and a drunken rage. After the smoke cleared, 8 bore gunshot wounds; a few, including those inflicted on her parents, were fatal. Wrong place at the wrong time? Or a massacre to cover a hit? Police still don't know what to think of that one. But it did produce one thing: two years of one bad day after another for the orphaned little girl who police discovered under the table.

Herika Jackson. That was last name she had used before the bloody night that left her parents dead. She was just 8, already an adept pickpocket the way her parents taught her and only then starting to control the voices and images running through her head that were not her own. Then they came to take her away. Too many people, too many voices and images bombarding her mind. They had seen the crime scene. Her parents, still, bloody, dead. It was too much. When she next opened her eyes, she was in a hospital bed. She knew someone was there and who he was: her only relative — allegedly and perhaps a very distant one — that child services could locate. She had her doubts: he was dark; she was fair — that is, if one looked past her tanned skin and sprinkling of freckles. They looked noting alike but even if they did, she knew one thing for sure: she didn't like her new Uncle J.

But she had no choice. He amazingly was willing to take her in so she went to Camp Verde, Arizona. Life should have been quiet but it was soon apparent that that was what it should be rather than what it actually was.

Unbeknownst to him, she knew all about his inner demons. She knew her "Uncle" was special, like she was a special. And she embraced it soon enough — secretly. Uncle J only became aware of one of her extra curricular activities after the pocket she picked was that of the local sheriff. She had flashed the flummoxed sheriff's badge at the security guard's face when she was denied entry into a casino.

She was only 11.


Faze has the power to affect any system, both organic and non-organic, with her touch. She also has the power to confuse those around her. Her touch is particularly lethal. Inorganic objects she touches immediately corrodes or malfunctions. People she touches are either weakened or those with super powers cause their powers to become cancelled, overloaded, or occasionally malfunctions uncontrollably. She is innately dexterous and her skill with her prized knives benefited from her enhanced abilities.


Her abilities include high sense motive, notice, search, and disable device checks.


She has two customized Adamantium Elbow Blades, stored in twin bracelets on her wrists.
